ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
Born in Munich, I dedicated myself to painting from an early age since art played already a significant role in the family.
Alongside my Law studies in Rome and later on during my acting studies at the Lee Strassberg Theatre Institute in New York City, I continued to cultivate my passion for the Fine Arts attending drawing classes in the New York Academy of Art.
Back in Munich where I worked as an Event Planner for several agencies I attended courses in painting and drawing to further improve my skills.
By the time I became a mother in the early 2000’s, the need for creative expression was stronger than ever.
I began experimenting with clay, sheep’s wool and various materials to create a possibility to make my world of thoughts visible.
My interest was mainly in the less visible everday situations that were hardly worth paying attention to. I wanted to give an intimate glimpse of a woman’s everyday life.
My work generally revolves around identity in all its facets and can be considered provocative and willful. I enjoy my personal development as an artist following my intuition. From representational painting to a freer, more abstract form of expression in order to find a less pleasing language to represent life processes. Art that is pretty or decorative doesn’t interest me. For me, the artistic is to question normativity.
As an artist, I question what may or may not seem acceptable to other people, in this way art to me has always the purpose to show life diverstiy on all levels.
